Waterside House is a family-run B&B in Hawkshead: three en-suite rooms and a shepherd’s hut, a two-minute walk from Esthwaite Water, with breakfast included in every stay.
Every room has its own en-suite with bath and shower, a private outside entrance, free Wi-Fi and a Smart TV. Rates are per night for two, breakfast included.
Our largest room, spread over three floors: a top-floor double bed under the eaves, a middle-floor bathroom, and a ground-floor sitting room with sofa, Smart TV and microwave.
A twin that converts to a super-king, with its own sitting room, TV and sofa bed. Two minutes on foot to the lake.
A ground-floor double that opens straight onto the guests’ garden. Step outside in the morning and you are already in the Lakes.
A 14 × 7 ft shepherd’s hut for two: hot shower and flushing loo, fridge, microwave and hob, Mi-Fi, and a fire pit for BBQs outside. No TV, no pets, just the fells.
Breakfast is included in every room rate, served in our dining room with its open fire. A proper start before a day on the fells.
The Hide comes with a simple continental breakfast. The Barn can be booked self-catering instead, with £7.50 per person taken off the rate.
Special dietary needs are catered for. Tell us in advance when you book and we will have it ready.
Waterside House is run by Vanessa. This is a family home that takes guests, so expect a warm welcome and local knowledge on tap.
Bring the dog. There is a private garden for guests, off-street parking, and secure storage for bikes and motorbikes.
All three rooms have private outside entrances, so you can come and go as you please, early starts and late sunsets included.
